Ingredients Needed
Full ingredients, measurements, and printable instructions are in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

- Blue Curaçao - I found non-alcoholic blue curacao in my local grocery store and online, but if you're making the cocktail version, use the regular liqueur.
- Grenadine - this is a pomegranate syrup, very sweet. It helps to balance out the purple color against that bright blue curacao!
- Pomegranate Juice, Cranberry Juice, or Grape Juice - I used Cran-Pomegranate juice, which is much darker than regular cranberry, which is more of a bright red. We really want to
- Sweet and Sour Mix - you can swap this for lemonade or lemon juice.
- Club Soda, lemon lime soda, ginger ale, or other sparkling add in - top off your drink with some bubbles. I mean, y'all know me: it's rare that my drinks don't have some effervescence!
- Canned Lychee Fruit and Frozen Blueberries - Use these to make the Purple People Eater's eyeball!
How To Make a Purple People Eater Cocktail and Mocktail

Step 1 | In cocktail shaker or mixing glass filled with ice cubes, add your juice and sweet and sour mix.

Step 2 | Next pour in the grenadine and blue curacao.

Step 3 | Shake or stir until the drink is completely cold, then strain into a glass. Top with your sparkling mix in and garnish the rim with a creepy lychee eyeball.
How to Make the Eyeball Garnish
Canned lychee are already peeled, and the fruit has a hole in the center where the seed once was. Place a blueberry in there and stick your cocktail pick through to keep them together.

Halloween-Themed Variations and Tips
- Make this mocktail into the perfect cocktail by adding your favorite vodka or gin!
- Raspberry schnapps, triple sec, or peach schnapps also taste delicious in this drink!
- Dip the rim of the glass into a small plate of simple syrup and then into some bright purple sugar before serving for a cute garnish.
- Try (carefully!) adding a tiny chunk of dry ice to the bottom of the glasses for an even spookier effect!
- Instead of using fruit, garnish with a gummy eyeball instead!

Recipes that use parts as measurements give you the freedom to adjust the size of your drink. These measurements, like 1 part or ½ part, exist to ensure the perfect balance of ingredients.
- 1 part blue curacao
- 1 part sweet and sour mix
- ½ part grenadine
- 1 part pomegranate juice
Mix all that together in a pitcher, and keep in the fridge until you're ready to serve it.
Then when it's time to serve, top the pitcher off with club soda or Sprite, and make eyeballs for your guests' drinks.

The skeleton glasses and a cauldron to serve the drinks out of really up the fun factor in presentation!
