This Halloween charcuterie board is the perfect mix of moody, a little spooky, and absolutely snackable. We bring flavor to the party table with a mix of soft cheeses, salty meats, sweet bites, and on theme fun enough to make it the life of the party.
It’s easy to pull together, shockingly good looking, and full of good eats, not just novelty. Ideal for any haunted dinner party or horror movie night spread.

Trick or Treat Themed Halloween Charcuterie Board
I'm a sucker for a good Halloween party theme, and this charcuterie board's on theme as a spooky little neighborhood. Trick or Treat...but make it charcuterie.
I went all out with glowing pumpkins, haunted houses, mini tombstones tucked between the crackers, and a bubbling cauldron of Harry Potter's pumpkin juice for the crowd.

There's a kid-friendly section loaded with festive Halloween candy and cookies, but the rest is for the grown folks: a witch hat brie filled with apple butter, coffin-shaped smoked cheddar, plenty of charcuterie, pickles, and even a little caviar for some fancée. I tucked in eerie-looking fruits like fresh figs from my garden, mangosteen, and lychee (Costco’s real ones know).
Sip on a glass of Halloween Jungle Juice, graze the spooky spread, and watch the trick-or-treaters do their thing Halloween night. This spooky spread is such fun and one of my favorite things to make all season.

Key Ingredients
Full ingredients, measurements, and printable instructions are in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
Shopping for a Halloween charcuterie board is just like any other charcuterie board, but adding in-season or themed ingredients adds to the fun.
- Cured Meats - My crowd pleasing go-to's are genoa salami, prosciutto, and something spicy like calabrese salami or 'Nduja! Theme twist: mozzarella sticks wrapped in prosciutto that look like fingers!
- Cheese - I always go by a rule of 3-4 cheeses: something familiar like a cheddar, something interesting/funky like a crumbly blue cheese or goat cheese, something soft like creamy brie or Camembert, and something hard like Manchego or Parmesan. Theme twist: add candy eyes onto tiny mozzarella balls in brine for that eyeball effect.
- Crackers and Bread to stack everything on. Theme twist: you can find bat or pumpkin shaped crackers at many stores (like ALD or Trader Joe'sI!) this time of year.
- Accoutrements - a little of this, a little of that: savory pistachios, marcona almonds, or homemade candied pecans for crunch; tiny cornichons and briny olives to cut the richness; and small bowls of apple butter, hummus, fig jam, honey with the comb, or spicy mustard for spreading, dipping, and drizzling.
- Fruits - You can keep the classic strawberries and grapes as crowd favorites for sweetness, but don't knock the on-theme mangosteen, bumpy lychees, and hairy rambutans. They're just as delicious.
- Anything you want - I love a cheeseboard full of fillers. Grab candies and cookies, those plastic spiders, and skeleton hands and go nuts!
A Little Spooky Halloween Cheese Board Tutorial
Step 1

Start with the Decor + Bowls
These big guys will help build the structure that your food will go around. It's okay to move and rearrange them as needed, but starting with them first creates a clear charcuterie plan.
Step 2

Anchor with Cheese
Cheeses are your focal points. Place them down like little spooky landmarks: a witch hat brie here, coffin cheddar there, a block of gouda in the corner. Everything else will build around them because they're so large.
Step 3

Add Crackers + Bread
Scatter your crostini, baguette slices, and crackers (ghost-shaped if you found them!) around the cheeses. Fan them out or stack them in loose clusters to keep things cute
Step 4

Layer in the Charcuterie
Time for the meats! Fold and curl slices of prosciutto, chorizo, salami, and whatever else you’re using. Tuck them around the cheeses and crackers that they'd pair well with.
Step 5

Add the Fruit
It's time to bring in the spooky fruit. I mean… have you seen the inside of a fig? Tastes good, but still creeps people out.
Step 6

Layer in the Charcuterie Fill in with Accoutrements
Add in your nuts, Halloween candy, cookies, fill with the jams, and little snacky bits. These are the extras that fill the gaps and give everyone something to nibble on between bites of cheese and meat.
Step 7

Finish with the Cauldron
Just before guests arrive, grab your food-safe cauldron and fill it with a fun punch like Halloween Sangria or kid-friendly Pumpkin Cider. Carefully drop in a chunk of dry ice for that foggy, bubbling effect but don’t leave it hovering over the platter too long or the moisture will mess with your crackers. Move it nearby and let the snacking begin!
Get Creative with Variations
- Southern Gothic - Virginia Ham Biscuits, pimento cheese stuffed olives, pepper jelly or chow chow, peanuts and Coke
- Full on Kid-Friendly - candy corn, cheese slices cut into shapes with small cookie cutters, apple slices with caramel
- Vampire Board - red Jello shots in syringes, red wine cheese, 'bloody' beet hummus

Troubleshooting
Make your own! Cut cheese into pumpkins, leaves, bats, or moons; or lean on the color palette: blackberries, purple grapes, dark chocolate, and orange cheddar go a long way. Dollar store spiders and mini pumpkins are also great little add-ons.
You can prep it all the morning of or the night before just wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate. Add crackers, bread, and anything that gets soggy right before serving. And if you're adding dry ice to the punch, do it right as guests arrive, it'll only last a few minutes.
Stick to one or two “fancy” items (like brie or figs) and fill the rest with affordable favorites like cheddar cubes, salami slices, store-brand crackers, and seasonal fruit.
Trader Joe’s, ALDI, and Costco are my go-tos for charcuterie needs and are very affordable.
It depends on whether this is the food or just part of the party. If it’s an appetizer, plan on 3–4 ounces of cheese and 2–3 ounces of meat per person. Add in a handful of fruit, a few crackers, and something sweet for each person, too. If it’s more of a grazing table or centerpiece, bump it up a little...especially if you're feeding sticky-fingered little goblins.
