New Foodie Gift Guide for 2016
It's the end of November!
And that means you need to get your Christmas shopping done. Immediately.
Or at least by Christmas Eve.
I love this time of year; the lights, the festivities, the good food.
Especially the good food. I am a foodie after all. And I have a ton of foodie friends who need gifts, so I know you have some too! This is the week of great gift guides for the foodies in your life. All pictures are clickable to their link.
Also, most of the gift links are Amazon links, so if you have Amazon Prime, you know you will get these goodies in two days (I've noticed the closer you get to Christmas, they have one-day shipping) and you'll have all your Christmas shopping done without running over people over Christmas deals.
How was your Black Friday, speaking of running people over for some deals?
I used to be a super Black Friday shopper, but nowadays I would rather sleep in after Thanksgiving, be in my jammies with a big "hello gorgeous" mug of chai, and browse online. I save Christmas shopping for December, when I can happily browse with my girlfriends. Am I the only one?

Your Friend Who is a New Foodie
So you know that friend that just got into cooking for whatever reason? Or the friend who just moved out into their own apartment? Here are some great gift ideas for that new foodie.
A Knife Set
All cooks need a set of knives, and this set by Cuisinart is fun, colorful, and comes with all the basic necessities one needs. Not to mention that it's only $16!
A Large Multi-Functional Bowl
Use it for mixing batter, tossing salad, serving soup, holding household goods, and all around to look good! I love this gorgeous acacia wood bowl, and I believe every home cook should have a sturdy wooden bowl that can be used for just about anything.
Salt and Pepper Mills
Yes, I love a beautiful wooden pepper mill, but not only are electric salt and pepper mills pretty in a modern way, they are so much easier to use! Forget the bicep workout, electric mills have a button!
A Dutch Oven
In my opinion, a dutch oven is a necessity! Soups, roasts, stew simmering for hours, dutch ovens do it all and look pretty doing it. Le Creuset is known for gorgeous, long lasting enamel-cast iron cookery that cost a pretty penny but Lodge also is known for it's cast iron as well and is pretty and affordable. Any foodie, especially a new foodie, would appreciate a beautiful enamel cast iron pot.
Slow Cookers
Some of the best things come from slow cookers. Dinner can be made while running errands, hot chocolate for your Christmas party en masse, apple butter and apple sauce made easy (and smell great while it's cooking)...not to mention how easy they are to use. Toss in the ingredients, go about your day, any new foodie can appreciate this. I love Crock Pot slow cookers. They've never let me down, they are super affordable and come in different sizes and designs, and this one in particular clasps the top onto the cooker, which lends to more reliable cooking and makes it portable! I love it.
These gifts would have been something I would've loved when I was suddenly thrust into the culinary world (aka, I moved out of my parents' house and was able to cook whatever I liked); my friends actually helped to pick these gifts out (thanks guys)!
