A little talk about March, birthdays, and an awesome giveaway with JORD Watches!
While I was compensated by JORD Watches to review their watch and host the giveaway, all opinions and writings are mine. Sponsorships and you wonderful readers help keep Sweet Tea and Thyme running, thanks you guys.
Greyson decided he was going on up to the east side, 'cause he finally got a piece of the pie..and gave himself an old man hair cut.
While I was crying my eyes out, Brian had to lop all my baby's beautiful curls off his head. I'm upset thinking about it now.
Never the less, Greyson doesn't seem too bothered. He doesn't like having his hair short, in fact he is requesting we regrow it back out into a curly mo-hawk like Brian's, but it sure is a lot easier to wash and moisturize the little hair now on his head.
I'm actually pretty excited to see his hair in a mo-hawk, it'll be cute!
I guess this is just another stage of him growing up. I wasn't ready! Where'd my toddler go?
Aaaand it's April.
April is a big month for us. It's Sweet Tea and Thyme's 2nd birthday this month (officially. I started blogging in 2015, but started this site in 2016). So I'm making cake.
It's Brian's birthday, and his birthday cake will be posted this month.
Even though Brian is Dominican, his favorite cake is Tres Leches (check it out here), instead of Dominican cake. I dunno why I find this so funny. Either way, it's a great cake and it's one of my absolute favorites as well so I hope you're excited to get the recipe and try it out yourself. It's a cake with different milks poured into it (kind of like a poke cake) and then covered in whipped cream and cherries or strawberries. Seriously, it's amazing. And it's so simple! Sheet cakes for the win, you know?
And it's Greyson's half-birthday. He'll be turning five in the fall. Whyyyyyyyyyy? Where is the time going? Why is it moving so fast?! Where did this kid come from?! I just had a toddler!
There are going to be a lot of cakes this month, just warning you now.
JORD Watches GIVEAWAY!
My husband and I are actually pretty big watch people; I bought Brian a nice watch box for all his watches four years ago, and every year I'm buying him one or two more boxes for his watches. While my watch collection isn't as huge, when JORD Watches approached me with an opportunity to try out their watches, give them a review, and give y'all an opportunity to get $100 off their beautiful and unique wood watches, I was like "Heck yeah!". I know that plenty of my readers would enjoy a nice gift without worrying about budget. Especially with Mother's Day around the corner!
I chose the Frankie in Dark Sandalwood and Emerald.
It's so pretty. Very androgenous, which is what I like in watches since I do have a pretty feminine wardrobe. And this style is perfect, man or woman; Brian has been eyeing it so...a Frankie might just be a little birthday gift for him. But don't tell him, or he's going to start fussing over it.
So first and foremost, I cannot get over this packaging. JORD's watches are made with sustainable wood, and their packaging is wood as well. They put in a finishing oil and soft cloth so you can keep your watch looking gorgeous. Even though JORD's brand of luxe is special -- I mean, I don't run into unique wood-centric luxury watch brands everyday -- it's not often that I receive such nice and well-thought out packaging and maintenance along with my purchase. Quel surprise, y'all.
The box it comes in is real wood, and even has a cute little drawer to store the cloth and oil and extra watch bits in. Like I said, this luxury watch brand really feels special, just off the packaging alone.
The actual watch is just stunning. I have received tons of compliments whenever I'm out and about. It is just so versatile, I'm basically wearing it with all my outfits. It's kind of a grounding piece to all my bubbliness.
I know it looks quite large on me, but I actually requested this watch because I wanted it to look oversized. I am a really tiny person (5 feet tall) with really, really tiny hands and wrists. I feel like this is a statement piece that isn't at all gaudy or gauche or nouveau riche. I'm just so in love.
Can you tell I'm so in love with it? Cuz I totally am.
JORD watches aren't hard on the wallet either. For such a nice watch, the Frankie is only $189. There are a ton of different styles, in different types and colors of wood, and honestly, they are just so gorgeous! I think JORD has converted me to more wood pieces in my jewelry box.
So not only do I have a contest link for you to join, but even if you don't win when you enter, you get 10% off a purchase!

And to see lovely men's watches, go here. (Psst, Brian loves the Frankie in Smoke and Dark Sandalwood. It's gorge.)
